The Radial SW8 is an 8-channel automatic audio switcher designed for professional live performance environments that use multitrack playback systems. It provides seamless redundancy between a primary and backup playback device, ensuring uninterrupted audio if a failure occurs during a live show.
Engineered for touring, theatre, and broadcast applications, the SW8 continuously monitors a reference signal from the main playback system. If a dropout or fault is detected, it automatically switches to the backup system in real time, allowing performances to continue without interruption. Switching can also be controlled manually or remotely for flexible system control.
The SW8 supports a wide range of professional audio setups with both line-level and transformer-isolated mic-level outputs. Its flexible connectivity makes it suitable for integration with mixing consoles, stage snakes, and large-scale touring rigs. Multiple units can also be linked together for expanded channel counts in larger productions.
Built into a rugged 19” rackmount steel chassis, the SW8 is designed for demanding touring environments where reliability is essential and downtime is not an option.
