The Radial Engineering PZ-DI is a premium active direct injection (DI) box engineered specifically for acoustic instruments, orchestral setups, and piezo-equipped pickups. Designed to solve common impedance-matching issues, it delivers a clean, natural, and highly detailed signal to mixing consoles and audio interfaces in both live and studio environments.

At its core, the PZ-DI features a selectable input impedance system (220kΩ, 1MΩ, and 10MΩ), allowing musicians and engineers to perfectly match the load to magnetic pickups, standard active sources, or sensitive piezo transducers. This ensures optimal tone clarity, improved low-end response, and reduced harshness—especially critical for acoustic guitars, violins, cellos, and other orchestral instruments.

A fully variable low-cut (high-pass) filter (approx. 5Hz–500Hz) enables precise control over unwanted resonance and stage rumble, helping “size” the instrument within a live mix. A complementary high-cut function smooths overly bright or brittle high frequencies often produced by active onboard preamps or piezo systems.

Built around a low-noise FET-based analog circuit, the PZ-DI offers exceptional headroom and ultra-low distortion (0.02%), powered entirely by 48V phantom power—eliminating the need for batteries. Additional professional-grade features include a -15dB pad, polarity reverse, ground lift, and a buffered thru output for simultaneous amplifier feeding.
