Primacoustic GRIDWAY

Acoustic Treatment for Drop Ceilings

Redefining acoustic ceiling tiles by combining high-performance sound absorption with sleek, customizable designs. GridWay offers architects and designers a versatile solution, integrating seamlessly into their vision, balancing form with function.

A Step Above Traditional Ceiling Tiles

The benefits that acoustic treatment can bring to a space are no secret. Taming reflections and echoes within a space with sound-absorbing materials significantly reduces noise - improving the concentration, communication, and well-being of anyone who spends time there.

Often, real estate on walls is limited by layout or décor, and ceiling clouds or baffles – owing to a lack of space to hang them and attach hardware – are equally impractical. For rooms with drop ceilings, however, the solution is often staring us right in the face.

Designed to fit the common T24 North American standard for drop ceiling tiles, GridWay sound-absorbing tiles can easily be swapped with existing drop ceiling tiles in almost every case, using the grid already in place, a non-destructive and reversible install process that's ideal for rented commercial spaces.

Made of high-density glass wool, the standard in the recording industry, GridWay tiles absorb sound waves across the frequency spectrum, leading to a quieter, calmer environment.

Setting Standards

Sound absorption isn't the only factor to consider when planning out the acoustic design of your space. Ensuring your panels are fire-rated is also essential - both for peace of mind and to maintain compliance with building codes. Primacoustic's GridWay panels are designed and tested to meet the most stringent international fire safety standards. By contrast, standard ceiling tiles are often highly combustible and can increase the speed of fire spreading through a building.

GridWay tiles provide additional insulation and are designed to be highly durable to prevent sagging and moisture absorption from the air in a space. In their raw state, their reflectance level can aid the illumination of a space. Beyond controlling sound within a space, GridWay tiles contribute significantly to meeting LEED and WELL standards.

  • Class A2 Fire Rating EN13501-1:2018
  • Class A Sound Absorption Rating ISO354:2003
  • Moisture and Sag Resistant RH≥99&
  • Insulation: Thermal resistant ≥ 0.6(m2k/w)
  • Reflectance: 99% JJG 453-2002
  • Will contribute to meeting LEED and WELL standards.

Versa-Tile

Most standard ceiling tiles are, at best, anonymous. At worst, after years of use, they can become unsightly. The GridWay range of acoustic ceiling tiles offers far more durability and a significantly wider range of possibilities. GridWay tiles are available in a wide range of carefully selected colors. They can also be produced in custom colors to perfectly match a specific Pantone or Hex code to fit any design palette and décor.

Looking for a more organic feel? Go a step further by picking one of our pre-printed wood grain finishes for a realistic effect to blend in beautifully with other wooden elements in the space.

All GridWay tiles can be custom UV Transfer printed at many commercial printers, allowing for additional customization with patterns, textures, or even a photo of your choice on the tiles. Apply high-resolution images without ink bleed to GridWay’s textured surface, or go with basic white to make colors pop: painted, printed, or plain white, there are no negative impacts on GridWay's acoustic performance and no trade-offs between aesthetics and performance.

Incorporate your ceiling into your overall design aesthetic to create a whole new canvas above your head to enhance the atmosphere of your space.

Go off the Grid

Typically, ceiling tiles are included in designs as a cost-cutting exercise or a last resort - a restrictive checkerboard that diminishes, rather than enhances, the look and feel of a space. Gridway, however, provides the flexibility to make the grid a feature or hide it altogether.

GridWay also offers more choices for panel design itself, giving you additional flexibility for your designs and a variety of edge types that are all equally easy to install.

For seamless integration, GridWay offers two ‘hidden edge’ options, allowing you to remove any trace of a previous drop ceiling by covering the joins between panels, with only a tiny bevel left visible.

In addition, GridWay Tiles can be ordered in bespoke sizes to fit non-standard grids, providing a solution that complements, rather than compromises, your vision.

StratoTile

No matter what your requirements are, there is a StratoTile to suit them. Offering the same absorption characteristics you would find in a recording studio or other critical listening spaces, these high-performance panels beat out standard ceiling tiles in every way. Available in customized sizes, thicknesses, and edge types, StratoTile provides an acoustic solution perfectly tailored to match your aesthetics.

For rooms that suffer from excessive reverberation and echo, StratoTile ceiling panels are the perfect customizable sound absorption solution.

Key Benefits

  • StratoTiles absorb sound waves hitting the ceiling rather than reflecting them back into the room.
  • Designed to fit most drop-ceiling systems, StratoTile allows for nondestructive, reversible installation without requiring special tools or hardware.
  • StratoTiles are entirely customizable to suit your aesthetic and feature ‘hidden edge’ options to obscure any trace of a previous drop ceiling.
  • StratoTiles are available in various tile thicknesses to address the specific amount of noise reduction you require. StratoTile

Suggested Applications

  • Large, open-plan areas where high levels of background noise can be distracting, such as offices, call centres, and libraries.
  • Busy, high-traffic areas that are often densely packed with people, including lobbies, common areas, restaurants, bars, and retail spaces.
  • Spaces with reflective surfaces, such as glass, metal, and concrete, that are prone to excess echoes.
  • Spaces where the suspension of Clouds or Baffles from ceilings is either impractical or impossible.
  • Rented spaces where a non-permanent, easily reversible acoustic solution is required.

ThunderTile

Acoustic treatment doesn't stop with attenuating internal sounds. If your issue is noise seeping into your space from outside sources or internal building infrastructure, soundproofing with ThunderTile is a better option. Standard drop ceiling tiles may hide pipes and HVAC but are particularly prone to allowing noise from critical infrastructure to pass through and interfere with comfort, enjoyment, and productivity. Add in noise from external sources, such as corridors, adjoining rooms, or the world at large, and effective soundproofing is even more critical.

Reinforced with high-mass gypsum, ThunderTiles keep external noise out and internal noise under control.

Key Benefits

  • ThunderTiles block external noise from entering the room while also absorbing sound waves from internal sources.
  • Designed to fit most drop-ceiling systems, ThunderTile allows for non-destructive, reversible installation without requiring special tools or hardware.
  • ThunderTiles are entirely customizable to suit your aesthetic and feature ‘hidden edge’ options to obscure any trace of a previous drop ceiling.
  • ThunderTiles are available in various tile thicknesses to address the specific amount of noise reduction you require.

Suggested Applications

  • Poorly insulated spaces with single-glazed windows or any space where external noise is an issue.
  • Areas with HVAC systems, pipes, or vents installed above drop ceilings.
  • Rooms that create a lot of noise that seeps into surrounding spaces, such as music, video, study, and meeting rooms.
  • Spaces with multiple noise sources that require a mix of soundproofing and acoustic treatment.
  • Spaces where the suspension of Clouds or Baffles from ceilings is either impractical or impossible.
  • Rental spaces where a non-permanent, easily reversible acoustic solution is required.
