TiGHT AV Unveils HDBaseT 3.0 USB-C Extender Kit Aimed at Modern AV Installations
TiGHT AV has announced a new HDBaseT 3.0 extender kit designed to simplify signal distribution and device connectivity in conference rooms, classrooms, and control environments. The newly introduced EXT-C211UETH-HDBT3-KIT combines video extension, USB-C docking, Ethernet transport, and power delivery into a single-cable solution.

A single-cable approach to AV and data
The kit uses HDBaseT 3.0 technology to transmit uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video, USB data, Gigabit Ethernet, audio, and control signals over a single Cat6A cable at distances up to 100 meters. By consolidating multiple connections into one infrastructure cable, the system aims to reduce installation complexity and improve reliability in professional AV deployments.
USB-C integration reflects evolving workplace needs
A key feature of the new extender is its built-in USB-C interface with DisplayPort Alt Mode support. This allows users to connect modern laptops directly while optionally receiving up to 100 W of power delivery, effectively turning the transmitter into a long-distance docking solution.
In addition to USB-C, the system includes an HDMI 2.0 input, offering flexibility for legacy and mixed-device environments.
Expanded USB and peripheral connectivity
The extender provides USB ports at both local and remote ends, enabling connection of peripherals such as cameras, microphones, keyboards, touch displays, and storage devices. The host computer can be located on either side of the link, allowing integrators to tailor deployments to room layouts and workflow requirements.
Audio extraction and control capabilities
Audio extraction is available at both the transmitter and receiver, with support for ARC, enabling integration with external audio systems. The kit also supports bi-directional Power over Cable (PoC), allowing the entire system to operate from a single power supply.
Target applications
- TiGHT AV positions the extender for a range of professional environments, including:
- Corporate meeting rooms and hybrid collaboration spaces
- Higher-education lecture halls and training facilities
- Command and control centers
- Interactive digital signage installations
