Bringing its customers an eclectic mix of classics, musicals, blockbusters, and family films, and visiting some of the most picturesque locations in the country - from medieval castles and sports arenas to country estates - Adventure Cinema is the UK’s biggest open air cinema tour. The company has enjoyed great success immersing audiences in the magic of the movies across more than 70 prestigious venues since its formation in 2019. The need for exceptional audio is particularly important in an outdoor cinema setting, and Adventure Cinema has exclusively used HK Audio systems since its inception.
As a travelling outdoor cinema company running pop-up events the length and breadth of the UK, Adventure Cinema covers significant mileage and seeks to mitigate costs and environmental impact by obtaining premium quality sound from compact audio systems, as Director Mark Thompson explains:
“Essentially, we need the biggest and best quality sound from the smallest boxes possible. The systems also need to be exceptionally durable and reliable as they are in virtually constant use throughout the season. HK Audio’s Linear 5 system has enabled us to provide incredible sound for outdoor audiences of up to 1500 deploying just eight speakers, saving space in transit.”
At the start of its 2023 season, the company contacted POLAR, HK Audio’s UK distributor to invest in 6 x Linear 5 LTS long-throw, ultra compact loudspeakers to upgrade the tops in their central stacks.

Mark Thompson continues:
“The power and long-throw characteristics of the Linear LTS units enable us to more effectively send the dialogue from films across larger event spaces without increasing left and right levels. Again, the compact nature of the boxes is a big plus in logistical terms.
